👍 It is a simple hostel but everything ‘works’ and it has what we needed. There is very nicefortablemunal space and kitchen and a nice garden which we did not use as too cold. Maria at the reception was very friendly and helped us a lot with booking the bus to Perito Moreno and referring us to agencies for bus to ElChalten and renting bikes.
This was second stay here and it was as good as the first. We’re given the same living space and weed back by the staff. Definitely happy with our first and second stay here.
Reallyfortable and clean living space and bathroom. Decent size with a small wardrobe and old tiny tv which we didn’t use. Really good shower pressure with hot water. Room was tidied and made up everyday. Breakfast was simple but decent and the employees were super nice, happy, friendly and helpful. Location was good - at the end of town, but the Main Street was 1 min walk away, so no noise or hustle and bustle.
Staff family run business very friendly and helpful, cute garden, good sized rooms and very well located. The hotel are happy to book all your outings for you and find you the best deals.
Clean small hotel, located two minutes of walking to the main street, but in a very quiet surrounding. The facilities are a little dated and the buffet-style morning meal is quite simple, but the employees is very helpful and nice. Great price to quality ratio.
noise from other guests
Super friendly employees helped us book excursions and bus tickets and made us morning meal 15 mins before our early bus so we could have something to eat : lovely rooms in a pretty garden
Brilliant hostel. Would highly rmend. Great locataion. The employees member we dealt with was absolutely fantastic! We had flight issues and they were very understanding. Great help for booking tours too. Thank you!
Great spot! And employees are really lovely. Super close to city and great restaurants. Near an the best bakery for fresh empanadas I had a lovely chilled lunch in their courtyard. Rooms nice and clean and employees very helpful and friendly. Just note if you plan on cooking each night you might find the cooking facilities a bit cramped.
This is a good budget option. It is really a hostel, but with individual rooms instead of dorms. Facilities are very basic, but the rooms are sizable and clean.
Close to city centreHelpful staff
Super friendly hosts who give you great rmendations on activities and restaurants. Room was simple but clean and big. Quiet. Good breakfast.
The hosts were very friendly and helped us decide which tours we should take during our stay there. The living space wasfortable and well kept.
Rooms and bathroom are quite basic but clean and adequate. We were able to park our car onsite which was a bonus. Florence and Juan are very lovely, friendly and helpful. They gave some great travel tips for the area and our next goal Bariloche.Being able to get laundry done there is also a bonus.
Extremely friendly, hosting and helpful employees - and an extremely cute dog at reception called Uma ! Facilities are fairly basic but good - showers were great.
Great place to stay for a couple of nights, employees are very friendly and helpful, rooms are decent and clean enough, morning meal is basic but does the job. Location is also great, very close to the main center of city but also nice and quiet.
The employees were very friendly and helpful. They booked me a day tour to P
👎 There was a Lake festival ongoing in city and the music was extremely loud, until 1am the first night which meant we could not go to sleep before that. hour ; would have been good if someone had informed us about this.
Only slight thing was cash only payment, but we knew this in advance and there’s plenty of ATMs in town, but this is the case with most places around this area.
Breakfast was frugal. El Calafete is expensive but Amancay is very good value for cashpared to other hotels.
I guess this place changed owners because it ispletely different from the reviews. Some of the highlights:- poor breakfast- 24 7 weird noise from a machine within the garden - wake up call whole morning from a rooster- towels smelled like cigarettes. Asked for new ones and these smelled like cigarettes also.- poor customer service- they cheat on their taxes, pretending they cannot give you the 21% VAT discount because they only accept cash. This isplete bullocks. Have received 21% VAT discount from all places in Argentina that only accepted cash.
There is some equipment within the courtyard - hot water system or refrigerator - that made a loud buzzing sound, on and off, all night. Could hear it from my room, bothered me a bit.
Old hostelOld and small TV and it didn’t work!!Not very cleanThere is a rooster cackling each morning at 5:30am!!
wireless a bit average within the rooms but super quick within the reception
The shower area and rest of the bathroom are separated by a short shower curtain which means the whole bathroom gets wet after a shower.t a big deal but would be nice to just have a partition.
There could’ve been more choice for morning meal like fruit or eggs. The bread was homemade which was very nice as well as the cake at breakfast.
Slightly expensive for what you get, however, most of El Calafate s amodation is. Breakfast could be better.
thing much, it could be a tad cleaner and bathroom better, but these are very minor points.
We were only there for three days
Slow wireless and only within themon area. kitchen.
Can t find anything ...
The floor within the living space was covered by a carpet, and the living space itself was big but not cosy.
Be careful re arrival time - no late check in.
It was satisfactory and a good value.
It is a good value for the price you paypared to other hotels within the city.
The bed was too hard. Terrible loud noise of a pump ? all day till quite late at night
Powdered milk for breakfast.
Everything was very good.
t cheap but everything in El Calafate is expensive and a long trudge from the bus station
television. the bed was a little used
TV didn t worked, very old CRT TV
Bad smell within the living space
If there is Hair dryer within the living space that will be very nice

👍 The best hostel I have ever stayed in and I ve been doing this for many years. Jess booked all my trips and cross referenced them with the weather forecast. Subsequently I was basking in sunshine in el chaten, horse riding and mini trekking on perrito morreno glacier whilst others were returning to hostel like drowned rats. Nahuel did a fine job of hosting everyone and running the bar effortlessly. But the biggest shout out must go to Chacho Matias andrma within the kitchens who kept this vegetarian very happy indeed and even invited me into the kitchen and let me watch how they cooked my cheese! Delicious. Whoever owns this hostel I hope you give your employees a big bonus. They are a wonderful team with no weak links. Thank you.
The vibe of the place was uparable to other hostels I stayed in Argentina. I still recall sipping wine within the terrace while listening to a someone playing the guitar and singining, other people playing with the friendly dog and enjying the beautiful sunset. Very helpful employees and a relatively close distance to the city main center were also great
This hostel was amazing. The employees are so helpful, with booking tours and generally just being hosting to everybody. The view from themunal area is great, and the WiFi works really well as well. Very close to the centre of town, so won’t hesitate to book here again!
Everything was well thought of individual plugs and space to leave phones for each bed Dorm was very clean andfortable 4 beds, mixed Lots of activities that can be booked at market price Very practical bar restaurant Great music
Sunset is stunning .. food amazing andmon area like a ski resort amazing
Communication with the English language was available, unlike other amodations.
Atmosphere, you can use amon kitchen. Nice guys at the reception. The cook at the dinner was authentic and kindful
Nice place with good vibes. Great to have individual light and power point at bed. Breakfast was great.
Lovely back patio to watch the sunset. Lots of seating inmon areas. Decent live music each night.
However, went for a meal and came back and it was all sorted. The hosts changed their mood too and were all very helpful and friendly. The hostel helps book tours and buses with a good morning meal to boot!
Great atmosphere andmunal space. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Good location - walking distance to both the bus stop and the centre.
The lobby features anice view. Staff are quite helpful overall. The living space is clean.
Comfortable beds, power outlets beside the bed, individual bathroom within the room, nice morning meal and even nicer BBQ with buffet on the side within the hostel s own restaurant bar, bigmon area and a terrace with a beautiful view, very nice and helpful staff.
The atmosphere is great, good vibes and food offered to buy is nice.
The employees was very responsive to our emails before our arrival and set up tours for us. The living space was clean but very small for four people. The lobby area was nice and the view is great. It was an easy walk into town.
Cosy place, amazing staff, great atmosphere. Comes with a little bar, a veranda with a view and well furnished rooms. The best place I stayed at in Patagonia!
I liked the hall, mon area, the staff, the atmosphere, within the evenings they make grill, there is a guitar and many books, which was cool. The view is amazing. The ornanizing
👎 I had a bit stressful transfer to the airport or airdrome cause the guy from the transportationpany forgot about me but it all ended up well ;
More group activities to put people together eg parties within the eveningLunchbox could be better avocado sandwich was a bit disappointing
Staff at times are more interested in chatting to themselves despite people waiting to talk to them.,
There was no watering out within the bathroom within the morning when we got up and wanted to wash. When we reported it to the reception, one of the employees bluntly replied: I know it. That s it.
Safe out of order. Room very small. Priceparable to normal hotels Three-4*
Location is up the hill but perfectly fine. Hostel employees could have provided more information when assisting with booking buses, tours etc. One key to be kept at the reception is a bit annoying.
Dorm bathrooms so-so clean, service among employees and restaurant varied wildly.
On arrival our living space had a few damages shower door didnt open, living space door didn t close and the employees were unpleasant about it i. e. actively went avoid avoid when we came to try and see if it could be rectified we had been on almost 30 hours of buses to arrive there and didn t want to have to worry about little things like that.
The open concept ensuite bathroom within the door rooms makes it difficult to not wake people up late at night and within the morning.
I stayed within the cabin. off the main building for the double room. witb shared bathroom. The WiFi is not really working within the cabin mainly due to coverage reason.. Also, they don t have the outlets that are suite for plugs from US within the living space but you can find them within the lobby.te Argentina use two different shapes of outlets. The mostmon one would not fit US plugs. The lessmon one would.
Breakfast could be served a bit longer, saw a few surprised faces among the guests when they started taking everything away at 9:30 ;
The water system had a problem 2 times and I couldn t take a shower. The rooms are tiny and you don t have living space to put your stuff. The kitchen is mesy.
The Wi-Fi was down for our entire trip. There were four of us and we stayed in a individual living space but the shower was small and made it ufortable to shower. The beds were not toofy so after three nights stay our backs felt the difort. The lobby bathroom was always dirty and they allow the stray dogs to enter the property which makes it ufortable when you are eating within the dining area. The food at the restaurant was pricey for OK food.
They charge 4% if you pay card, the rooms are small.
I got bitten by bed bug or something, BUT the employees immediately reacted and changed me to another living space and inspected the mattress. As it turned out there was no trace of bed bug but I felt so relieved to sleep on another bed. I still don’t know what I got bitten but it was pretty bad around neck. Still, I loved the spacious dining area so I will stay there again.
Wifi was often slow, and the sink within the living space is not separated from the sleeping area, which can be inconvenient if you need to use it later at night and someone is already sleeping
Food within the restaurant was not very tasty.
The rooms are pretty basic. Th en-suite bathroom is nice but the shower is very small and they don’t provide basic things to make the bathroom better such as hand soap for the sink or a floor mat to keep the shower area from ge
