AKA Times Square - Main photo Closed hotel AKA Times Square

AKA Times Square

123 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036, USA

👍 Big, spacious and present days apartment great for our family. Quiet and private, didn’t feel like we were steps away from the bustle of Times Square. Staff were very helpful and amodating. Location is perfect. Personnel is professional and helpful. Apartments are big and nice. Pleasant and helpful staff, morning coffee, large units, location Awesome internet Connectivity and speed. Just made this my high choice for NY trips. Room was quiet and veryfortable. We had just gone through an airport or airdrome ordeal with flight cancellations, freezing outside 2 hrs waiting for taxis that never came, when we finally arrived at the hotel at 2 AM we were greeted with smiles, warmth and patience. The 2 bedroom apartment was beautiful and everything needed was there. The penthouse morning meal area mon lounge is a wonderful place to relax and have a coffee or hot chocolate! Thank you to the employees on night shift! Bonus was location! Room booking error was addressed professionally and satisfactorily. General courtesy of employees is above average. Staff, Doorman are nice and pleasant and very helpful. Concierge employees are able to get us reservation to restaurant which is very difficult to get in a short period in advance. The place as well as linen and towels are clean and new. All facilities are good had been well maintained and useful. The location is convenient and safe even at night. And you can easily get food around the area almost all the time. It is a great location. An efficient but not very hospitable place. Personnel is very nice. Services are mediocre. Rooms are not properly insulated. When kitchens were used, the floor smelled of food. The location was fantastic right in Times Square but was obstructed from the bright lights a problem many othersplained of. amazinglyfortable bed. A few steps from the centre of the action on Times Square. Staff extremely courteous. I mentioned when booking that we were staying in New York as part of my wife s special birthday treat. On arrival there was a nice birthday card for her and a bottle of champagne. Lovely gesture. Great location. Quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. Good washer and dryer. Only negative was tiny bathroom where living space got very wet with each shower use. Bathroom Door was difficult to open and close. Needs maintenance. Very helpful staff. Perfect location and the one bedroom apartment was very spacious. Exceptionally clean and literally a 2 minutes walk away from Times Square. Our apartment within the AKA Times Sq was spotless. It had all the facilities required - washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, all cooking utensils. It was very spacious. If staying in NYC again I would definitely stay within the AKA. There is a lovely lounge area on the high floor where there is access to a PC and printer. Best nights sleep for ages. Great shower. TV in lounge a bit hit and miss but we only put it on first thing within the morning for the news and weather. First class kitchen Equipment and Washer Dryer. Staff exceptional, thanks. Location was fantastic, minutes from Times Square. The employees were great, organised groceries to be in our living space before we arrived, with minimal cost. The living space we had was very good, spacious andfortable, more than I expected for central NYC. The spaciousness of our living space The kitchen was amazing. It had everything you could think of. The lovely fragrance around the entire p

👎t much! They have cleaned only once while we were there, and spent 8 days. This is not enough. Kitchen apparels are bing old, and you need 45mn to get boiled water. Some units were very dark because windows faced adjacent buildings. Additional lighting should have been available. It would be helpful if housekeepers had a checklist so that customers did not have to ask for dish soap, paper towels, and tissues. Outlets or power strips near the headboards would be helpful. Very little bad to say. Could probably use a second treadmill in fitness center but was not a problem while I was there. Would have been nice to have coffee available in living space or lobby even for at least 1 day. There was confusion regarding the living space booked which was not the same as advertised. The mattress is very firm, as are the pillows, not my preference. 1 The reservation and payment. I had been charged on full amount for reservation prior to our stay but upon checking out, my friend was asked to make payment again despite my notification to AKA upon checking in!!!w I had written to both . and AKA for a clarification and refund and expect respond ASAP!!! Below are what I d wrote to them. To Whom it may concern, I am very disappointed with both . and AKA this time. Because I had been charged on Jun-2One-18 for total amount of US$ 1,860.30 to my credit card. However, upon checking out, AKA asked my friend to pay again on the same amount!!! I don t know whether this mess is caused by misunderstanding which is hard to believe or you have a very lousy system!?! or it s the intention of either . or AKA to do this!?! I need clarification as well as full refund amount ASAP!!! ps. Since you usually request confirmation number for any corespondent, I suggest you should put either confirmation number or pin code number when you charge with credit card as well for same understanding so that both you and your client could easily check the transaction and payment whether it s correct or not. 2 With two bedroom reservation, there should be two bathroom or at least additional toilet not just one!!! The air con within the apartment was noisy, and the air con of the surrounding buildings was worse Only tea or coffee and the odd banana, apple or pear available in lounge within the morning. We love our cups of tea and would ve preferred a kettle tea coffee making facility within the room. Bathroom. Check in time is 3 pm which is way too late aspare to other hotels. There was nothing to dislike. Excellent Staff, Excellent Apartment and Excellent Location add up to a fantastic break. Need to have bedside table on both sides of the bed.t just one. Minor support problems: bathroom door did not lock, den door did not close well. Shower gel and shampoo no longer the luxury brand they used to have. Seemed to me that the hotel was at times under-staffed, and they took time to respond to my requests. The hotel was fixing the elevators - which means the elevators were signalling some terrible noise which annoyed me. The penthouse suite was a studio with tiny windows and questionable ceiling. To two bed living space apartment, there is only one small bath living space is inappropriate. We stay there for 5 nights. There are two elevates in this building, one is broken for ever, the other was broken at one night,we have to use the stairs. There are no free of cost water within the ro

👍 the most pleasant experience because of the employees and how they treat guests as if they are at their homes. they are very helpful and are ready to provide any advise or help . they go out of their way to assist . Beautifully appointed Traditional Apartment in a lovely area of New York City. Great Gym, Pool, Bar, Theatre andplimentary coffee provided. Good onsite Laundry available at no charge. Quiet street close to supermarket and Restaurants. The Reception employees were exceptional with a special mention to Spencer who was always very helpful. Clean, quiet and spacious amodation. Well furnished and beds veryfy. Walking distance of midtown and Central Park and 2 supermarkets within a block. Staff very helpful and pleasant.t cheap but not much more than 2 hotel rooms and worth it for the space andfort. Very good location and big size apartment and clean Attentive personell. Style and general appearance of the apartment, sizefort extreamly if youpare to rooms size in hotels in central Manhattan. Very close to Wholefoods market if you need to buy some food etc. The location and the apartment was veryfortable. Also the employees were very friendly. On our last day we checked out at 11 a. m. but our flight wasn t until 10 o clock at night. The hotel kindly allowed us to use the facilities until we took a taxi around 5 p. m. Thank you. The hotel is in construction so it is noisy from 9am to 5pm, but it doesn’t mention this before we booking. Also the mattress and pillows is very hard, I feel notfortable with sleep condition. Btw, their employees are nice and helpful. Staff great. Free coffee! Lounge area and apt were great. Location also spot on. Nice location. Very central location in a quiet area of Manhattan, but still closeby! Absolute fantastic staff! The best spot in NY to stay and get some rest after a hectic day! Everything was perfect. Big spacious one bedroom suite with so much space. Lounge downstairs was great to relax in. Fresh towels given everyday. Snjezana was great. Really helped with easing our minds in staying with Aka. Always greated us with a smile. Very nice apparthotel. Very well located. Staff are very nice and helpful. Flat very clean and well furnished except broom. Nice pool within the lower ground. We liked here very much,it is not far from 5the Ave shopping and easy to find good restaurants close by,at the same time, you can enjoy the peacefulness of the evening Good place for holiday stay in New York Suites are fantastic and the employees are amazing. It is clean. Staff is kind! Veryfy living space great bed great kitchen facilities Quiet, very clean, full equipment, people at front desk, everything was great ! Stuff We had a wonderful time! Very friendly and helpful personal. The pool and the cinema living space were fantastic. Beautiful apartment, great staff, well located. Clean, well decorated, great space. It exceeded our expectations in all expects. tasty coffee Spacious with great location and staff Really enjoyed theplimentary coffee at reception bar. Staff were first class. clean

👎 nothing much expect i would have liked to have a special treatment for those guests who are frequent and have been at Aka at several occasions.. i tried to extend my stay but there was no flexibility and the price was way higher than what i paid before.. The lighting in some areas of theplex was a little subdued. significant flaws. Time of checking out was at 11:00 am. And they force me out of the apartment without late check out, there was construction at the Place, no storage for luggage. They turned off the Wi-Fi at 11:00 am. I would have liked being informed that the property was a building site and that we couldn t open our blinds as workmen were walking right around the apartment. Being on the first floor meant that we heard a lot of noise from traffic at night and building work during the day. Scaffolding around hotel with men at window from 9am! Blocked what view we had and was a little off-putting. Swimming pool heating broken, though it is a beautiful pool. Fridge was also super noisy, sounded like a hoover was on. Do not trust any reference to the couch being suitable for a third person to sleep. It is rudimentary. You will be asked to pay a daily rental fee of $ 60-90 for an ugly extra bed !!! Also, window insulation is bad and does not work for the winter in NYC. Other thanplimentary coffee and tea downstairs, there is nothing you can hope for. However, food deliveries from outside are allowed. Finally, it is a great pity that the pool, fitness center and showers within the basement are so cold that no one practically uses them. We asked twice to have the temperature raised and we were told that it was done but there was no difference. Finally, another member of employees simply told us sorry, that is just the way it is set up and got rid of us. We had checked in to AKA the day after the weeks heat wave in nyc, so when we arrived it started to get cooler and rained a few days. We weren t able to up the temperature within the living space as apparently it can take Three-4 days to switch over from AC so it was pretty cold within the evening. We only stayed 7 nights but 3 -4 of the nights I had to sleep with a scarf around my head as it was freezing. We are now in Hawaii and I m recovering from a cold because if it which is annoying. The front work area said they would have given us a portable heater but apparantly they were all in use. Everything else about the place was great. I guess it was bad luck that we rocked up day after the heatwave. I would rmend heaters to be given out in situations like this. We paid almost $600 AUS x 7 nights so would have expected to be keptfortable. Tv is standard. cable tv at all just channels that sell things to consumers. Had to pay for something decent to watch. Wasn t aware of this at all.. The bedroom features astrange circular window that you can t cover up. So after a long 20 hour flight we were woken up by the morning sunlight at 5.30am and just managed to get to sleep at 2am the day we checked in. We did ask for something to assist black it out but nothing eventuated so we had to pack the window with pillows and back packs to block out the rays. Heating system didn t work so well. A broom could be provided to the occupants and the cleaning could be made more often than once a week. We like it, and feels all pretty good Pool could be a bit warmer We could have used a broom! Swimming pool was closed for most of our stay<b

Studio in Times Square

West 46th Street Between 6th and 7th avenue, New York, NY 10036, USA

👍thing That we left! The location was excellent,a lot to do in area. The studio apartment was nice and other then walking up 3 flights of stairs the living space was nice. Perfect location, good value for money The only positive was that it was within the heart of time square The location was great. Except for location, rest everything was poor Location is great The location was the only good thing about this apartment. location Great location, 1 minute walk to times square great ubication Location The location to Times Square is amazing. The email guidance for check-in check-out was easy peasy. Our living space was available at 2pm instead of the expected 4pm. The hot water worked great! Woot woot! Location thing. This property is a dirty unsafe disaster Location only Location was close to city square. It was nice it had a fridge, mic, toaster. The location was central to retail and entertainment. Location to Times Square Beds arefy and beautiful! Perfect location. Totally accessible to anything and everything. Will definitely rmended for first-time travelers. The location is excellent.. Good location. Really close to Times Square. I didn’t see any bugs that peoplemented earlier. Beds were fine. I rmend this studio apartment if you plan to spend the whole day out and onlye back to living space just to sleep. thing, dirty and dusty, stained sheets, taps didn t work, smelly, dirty bathroom, cockroaches, cheap and nasty, location the only good part but didn t warrant a penny of what we paid. Would rather have stayed further away and paid more. Totally put a black cloud over what was an amazing experience! The location. We didn’t have to spend any more time than necessary within the apartment. Location - awesome, yards from Times Square. Towels and bedding were provided and my teenager appreciated the wireless ! Good location but thats about it. The sheets were clean Location Property was central and bedroom space was good furnished with iron, toaster, micro, fridge, hairdryer thing Location near Times Square. I was nervous with all the negative reviews about the property; however, when we got there-yes there were many stairs to climb-but the living space was quite charming! While the bathroom could’ve been more modern, it was still functional. I would ignore most of those negative reviews-for the price, it was a good value! Never met hosts and was difficult to get messages as WiFi didn’t work at building at all. When we arrived there was another group after accessing our room. They returned quickly and removed their belongings. Easy access to the parade on 6th Location is excellent, all rest is not. From the very first time I used a lot of cash to confirm my reservation. I called the host and told me that I do not have reservation but they already charged my credit card. This is the first time I have ever had this problem on my booking from I became a member. Just to say that collection of the key was not easy as I had to ring the host a few times before getting the key. I got a bit frustrated however once we got the keys everything else was perfect. I loved the location and the ease of getting to and from the city airport or airdrome etc. I would have no problem rmending this property to family and friends : Location, location, location! Location, and it was quiet. The location was nice The location was great, steps away from Times Square. It wasfortable. The air conditioner worked ok which was good as we were there on a hot day. The location was ideal considering we wanted to be near Times Square. The location was perfect Good location. thing, do not stay here! Only the location of the property Just the location Nice location thi

👎 smelt of gas and grease, noise of the bathroom fan, shower was filthy, bedsheets had stains. Had to climb 5 flights of stairs, which were narrow. This place is a roach infested dump that is located above a nail salon. It stinks walking into the staircase that looks sketchy alone. You won’t see these photos on booking though. There is mold and falling ceiling within the bathroom - notice it’s not pictured. We killed 4 baby roaches, two of which were under the covers. Jake seemed inconvenienced each time I called him with concerns on the steaming heated that we were afraid to turn off, the roaches, the key box... this was the worst experience ever! Me and my girlfriends highly rmend the Hampton that we ran to afterwards on W41st between 7th and 8th, for nearly the same price. Climbing 3 flights of stairs but we knew that before we went. The only other thing was that the beds are so low to the floor. Cockroaches, smelly fridge, lack of bin bags, dirty bathroom, only one out of the 3 lights working, the buzzer didn’t work The list of what me and my didn’t like about Studio on the Square is quite long. We stayed in unit 8 which was 3 flights up steep stairway Once within the apt we see it’s nothing like the pics posted on . Substandard conditions. Our first impression were We can’t stay here But like good little troopers we decided to stick it out and make the best of it. Big mistake The hardest beds we ever slept in. The smell was very bad like rotten food or something Then we spotted our 1st roach which was within the bed under theforter The bathroom was the worst ever Some kind of tube type shower that was cracked and moldy toilet and hot water heart bump up together. living space to even turn around The bathroom sink was right outside the door Cold water needed to turned on from the valve under the sink. Reason being that there was a constant flow of water from faucet if not turned off and the pipes where leaking as well It gets worst when on the second night not only did my guest find a roach crawling on her leg we then seen that the stove sinkbo was horribly infested with roaches that wheree from behind the stove and up the walls and within the sink Went to Duane Reed to get Raid Roach Spray and Air Freshener because the smell got worse and worse each day I can go on but I think you get the picture Back to hotel rooms for us. We had our living like the locals experience and will never do that again To . which I love, I strongly suggest you think twice about having this apartment as part of your portfolio. My group and myself still question why we put up with staying there as long as we did. Guess the drinks helped us persevere The linens were old and worn. One of the bath towels had an ink stain on it. There were no hand towels or wash cloths. There was mold within the shower. Also, a large hole within the wall. In the kitchen area there were no paper towels and there were only 3 mugs and about 8 plates. soap to wash ones hands and no tissues. This was not at all up to standards for renting out and by far NOT worth the cash they charge. We saw 2 cockroaches while staying there and no instructions about what to do with the garbage. There were no extra bags even if we were able to empty it. The living space is dim, maybe because 3of the 8 light bulbs were out. 1. escalator, only staircase at 4th level, with kids and parents it was extremely hard 2. Room was very small, dingy and shabby with no ventilation 3. Basic amenities such as soap, toiletries was not available Dirty, smelly, things are not working within the room, bed was notfortable, and I did not meet anyone from the property. When I called them to at least accept my luggage from I arrived earlier than check in time, no one helped me. Over over over priced for nothing. Unpleasant experience and I will never think to return even if it was for free The 6 inch mattress with no box springs was beyond horrifi

The James New York

27 Grand Street, SoHo, New York, NY 10013, USA

👍 Great location and great views. Most of the employees were very helpful and kind. I thoroughly enjoyed the gentlemrn at the front door, very nice, saying hi or bye everytime we popped in or out! The view of the freedom tower was excellent. The James rooftop bar was great extreamly from there was a 50 foot walk back to my living space including elevator ride. The short walk to all of the restaurants and shopping district was fantastic as well. The 6pm wine wee hour was a great touch as well!! I love the location of the property. It’s in Soho, not too crowded but also not too polluted location. The employees were really nice and helpful. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful. Wood floors within the winter made the living space feel a bit cooler, perhaps a rug would go a long way. But the living space overall was absolutely beautiful, modern, and clean. fy bed. superb location. great scenery from the higher floors. The new restaurant is good if somewhat pricey! Beds werefy. Wine and cheese each evening was a great way to end a day exploring the city. Comfy bed, and quiet. Was able to get good sleep yay! Housekeeping did not clean our living space but refilled the snack tray ? Mmm is it because you charge for that ? I had to call to get water and fresh clean towels The service was excellent. I was addressed by my name and my requests were met with a smile each time. The living space was lovely with floor to ceiling windows and very little outside noise. Veryfortable bed, great shower and beautiful view 14th floor. Super close to the subway and walking distance to many attractions, bars, restaurants etc. highly rmend! The employees was really great! They did their best to provide me the best experience. The hotel is boutique hotel, so its style and design is what I prefer. I liked the outlook of the bathroom a lot. thing about this hotel was remotely likeable. The location is really perfect, which is about 2 mins walk to SOHO. Apart one thing it s a great hotel, but... Hotel employees were generally friendly. Location was excellent. Right next to nice coffee shops, restaurants and shops. Loved the large windows and natural light. Also liked the distilled water. Very hard to get ahold of employees and felt as though is was pulling teeth to get anything. Just very unorganized in my opinion. Staff was very friendly, helpful, weing. Operates as a smaller personable hotel. Loved the ambience of the open-air spaces as well: the garden area is a wee respite from busy city. Room was exceptionally clean and well organized; quiet. Received an upgrade. Location was great for us visiting family nearby. Beautiful location within the heart of soho with amazing view on the Town. The employees is really hosting and professional, always ready for your needs. The rooftop is really enchanting and the restaurant is very good! 👎 Front desk person would not let me get my key as I used my partners name a the primary when booking though i paid for everything.. was mess after a long travel and she was not helpful-- basically saiying i had to wait til she got there to get my room. had to call her and ask 20 questions before i was able to proceed. no apologies.. could of been handled much better in my opinion. I have stayed at several hotels in this area for around the price. The James rooms and hotel were present days but worn. Paint chips, worn floor, stains on curtains.. Light was out on the bed stand and asked if they could fix it but never got done.t what was on the photos nor what i was expecting. The bed was notfortable, my fiance and I both are at home with sore backs. The floors were very thin I know because the woman within the floor above with high heels at 2am was very noticable. Moving the nightstand revealed what looks like a total disinterest in finishing renovations, looks like something you d hire a craigslist contractor to work on the poor moulding job and floor work All in all, we prefer the Domenick, which was booked, we will go back to them. So much for giving change a try. They need to exchange wash their curtains and blinds because in they have some stains on it. The bathrobes are over washed, they don’t look new and fresh anymore. It s super nitpicky, but the wood floors made the living space feel much colder, extreamly within the winter. They provide a fantastic look, but a rug of some sort might go a long way. It was extremely noisy, both from the corridors into the rooms and as i was located on floor 17 directly under the bar it was horribly noisy within the evenings. The bar employees were more than a little off hand. It was a bit expensive to not have morning meal included in he price. Housekeeping filled up our snack tray, but did not clean our room. I had to call to request fresh cleans towels and water For a superior king living space it was really small. I have been in many hotels and this living space looked more like the cheapest one within the hotel. In addition, I was also expecting that the bathroom would be better furnished in terms of products as well as a bath tub. In addition, I paid for a city view however all rooms except the status of liberty ones have a city view. So I was expecting a beautiful city view and got nothing special. I was less than impressed with this hotel. I had specifically booked to be able to make use of the rooftop which was closed for a individual event - this was not advertised anywhere prior. The employees were extremely unamodating, rude and robotic. I will not be staying here again nor will I rmend it. The employees have also taken payment twice and I am having to deal with ipetent assistance in which to retrieve my money. My living space has not been cleared during the first day of my stay. I called to require house-keeping, but no one showed up. I ended up with asking for some new towels and 2 dollars tips. The price was extortionate for 1 night $700 for plus taxes. 3nights $1150 plus taxes. Booked the further 3 nights and $200 discount given eventually after majorplaint. could not be undone and amended. RIP OFF for size of living space given, even after upgrade ☹️ Be very careful because they probably will charge you more than you should pay - first day we came they said that we should pay more than 180$ from booking price that incudes already each taxes and fac
