👍 First thing I liked is the great location. I booked one bedroom villa on King street, it was very clean and quiet, despite some upgrade going on within the building and despite the busy restaurant terassa on the ground level. There is no elevator within the building, used stairs to go to the 2nd level where villa’s are located, but from building only has 2 or max 3 levels, it is ok. The rooms were clean and cosy with luxurious and present days designed kitchen and bathrooms, an electric fireplace within the dining room, veryfortable king bed within the bedroom, and an extensible hughe coach within the dining room, furnished with everthing needed forfortable sleeping just needs to ne unfolded. Everthing was great, and we got two free of cost vouchers for morning meal the Gate House restaurant. Excellent service, very nice and helpful staff!
Location was impeccable
I enjoyed the morningplimentary breakfast. The location and services were good. Obviously the parking in a separate area was not so good, but that is temporary. The hotel living space was large and airy.
Close to everything and helpful front work area staff. They shuttle you to 4 options for wine tours which allows you to relax and enjoy wine tasting
We enjoyed each minute. It was home away from home and Niagara-on-the-Lake is so beautiful. We didn’t want to leave. Highly rmend this hotel, if you are looking for the total experience in service and quality, this is it.
The family apartment condo was brilliant with a little porch for us to sit out on. It had everything we needed for 5 people and was veryfortable. Very pleased.
Overall living space was very satisfactory, very spacious, great matresss, excellent bathroom layout. Willing to book again once all renovationspleted and parking access is improved. Excellent central Hotel location.
We were 3 people. 3 adultsCouple used the bedroom and bed was veryfortable. The one person using the sofa bedWas not able to sleep, was very ufortable, sofa bed length not long enough to fit an adult. The hotel suite wasfortable, neat, modern, very clean. Full kitchen, separate bedroom and sitting living space with sofa. Hotel is in a beautiful location within the heart of main Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Property was very convenient to the town. Room small but bathroom shower was nice.
Absolutelly great boutique hotel keeping up with the unique city climate and atmosphere. Newly renivated. Great attanetion to details. Free andfortable parking places. Localisation next to the main street.
We unfortunately could only stay one night would loved to stay longer. We had a beautiful room. Great location. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff, especially the lady who showed us her room. Excellent at her job.
I loved the location of the hotel to the main center of town. We could walk anywhere we wanted to go! And the living space was perfectly clean looked brand new!
Felt like home from home. Quality of deco and furnishings. Village location good too. Parking facilities. Outdoor patio area excellent with bbq.
Great location and very cool, updated rooms; extreamly for a 100 yr old property
The villa was beautiful and spacious, and the spa services were wonderful. Location is perfect, right on the main drag so shops and restaurants are easily accessible. Would definitely stay here again.
Bed wasfortable and L’Occitane bathroom amenities were appreciated.
The mediocre checkin procedure and way reception treated us. Suggested when I booked in with my cousin that we were gay and were booking living space for sex lol not impressed!
Your front work area doesn t answer when called. I had a problem with the TV with settings which I couldn t fix. I called the front work area and there was no reply. The cleaning person, was close by and told me how to fix it. I was also very disappointed with your restaurant Treadwell. I was excited to finally get a reservation at the restaurant and was really looking forward to dinner with you. Well, while the food was very good, the service was not. I had told them we needed to go to a play that evening and their timing was so slow I had to stop my order for dessert and request the bill immediately. There are many exceptional restaurants within the area - yours isn t one of them.
I have stayed here before and enjoyed it, however we weren’t aware there was construction going on when we booked. The Gate House service for morning meal on the Sunday was absolutely terrible and the manager didn’t seem to engage or concerned when we mentioned it. Then halfway through our morning meal that we waited about 50 minutes for, we were asked to changed tables because they were hanging curtains
The service within the restaurant for morning meal was terrible. The tables were not cleared for ages after people left. The employees would carry out food to a table and then return empty handed to the kitchen to collect more food leaving all the dirty plates all over the restaurant.t surprisingly they then ran out of tea pots!Construction ongoing for a new restaurant and spa so hopefully this will improve the morning meal offering.
Late check in time, parking situation
Sofa bed very ufortablethin mattress and length of sofa too short to fit a full adult and because of both problems was not able to sleep. Also no elevator to go up to our roomhas flight of stairs.
Price was expensive for what we got. Room was Claustrophobic, mattress ufortable, parking was limited and not convenient, coffee maker in lobby was broken and unavailable on a Sunday morning. Could have offeredplimentary coffee to starbucks next door considering price paid for room.
A little bit difficult to find the reception wchich is within the shop within the neighbouring building.
thing the employees could not do enough for us . We were a family of 4
There is not one thing I didn’t like about this property! It was fantastic!
The pullout was awful, and having a very heavy coffee table in front of it made it difficult to move to set up the pullout. Other than that it was great.
More hangers in cloakroom for coats stunning amodation and location
day time front work area clerk wasn t overly friendly or helpful - and seemed put off by my questions.
The large living space had an awkward layout so that the fireplace was largely obscured by an enormous kitchen counter NOT as shown in online pictures of suites. Carpets and couch were in need of a thorough cleaning...upholstery on couch and cushions well worn. Kitchen was furnished with a few glasses and some cutlery but no plates or bowls. The living space faced onto the busy mainstreet and walls between floors rooms were so thin that it was very noisy. There are much nicer places to stay at this price point in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Maybe the price. It would have been nice if there had been a discount available

👍 Loved the delicious breakfasts she served us in ourc own apartment. Lois was friendly, gracious, warm and offered wonderful suggestions for restaurants, wineries and area activities. Our amodations were spotless and the location was perfect. The 1818 Riding Sun bed and morning meal deserves 5 stars in each category.... we plan a return short trip to Niagra on the Lake and a stay at this wonderful Bed and breakfast.
Excellent individual suite with own front door. Lots of space and exceptionally clean. Great hosts with lots of information about the local area. Breakfasts are superb. You can borrow bikes to tour the vineyards.
Hosts are delightful. They weed us like family and gave us great rmendations for local dinner and wineries. The suite was perfect. We loved that there’s only one bedroom so you always have the place to yourselves. The space is beautifully decorated including lots of lovely paintings on the walls. Made for a great romantic stay. Little touches like drinks in fridge and range of toiletries in bathroom were very wee.Breakfast was delicious and they kindly catered to our dietary requirements.
Frank was a very friendly hosts and gave us a lot of helpful reendations for dining and all the beautiful spots in town. The morning meal was also great and the apartment was fantastic we had our own space there including 2 washrooms, a living living space and afortable bed. We also got bikes from him for free of cost to get around town. Thumbs up for this place and we wille again :
The rising sun folks were most hosting and as they only rent 1 living space it was perfectly individual and peaceful with a very large bed. Just what we needed after a city and to prepare us for Niagara the next day. We also got an opportunity to purchase some lovely watercolours from the owner who clearly has talent and a keen eye for capturing the surrounding area. The grill on King served superb food and was a wee change from the usual fayre served elsewhere. Its certainly worth sitting by the lake as the cool breeze was hosting and take the Niagara parkway for a scenic drive. Overall I d rate the individual touches very highly and rmend a stop over here rather than Niagra itself as that s really built up. I think we lle back to Canada as we love the relaxed vibepared to the USA and the folk are so polite and weing. Thanks to our hosts at the Rising Sun you made our visit most memorable as will the water colours we will frame to make sure our family also gets a peak at what s on offer at Niagra on the lake.
Everything was great from the sitting room, our bedroom and the bath and a half. Really liked having a individual entrance too. Breakfast was 5 star! Will definitely return and rmend it to friends.
Love Love Love ~Everything was wonderful. The hosts, the place, the food. We liked it so much we already booked for next year!! And the gorgeous artwork throughout the place was an extra bonus - Lois is one talented artist~~~
We enjoyed staying at Rising Sun so much last year, we booked again this year and have already secured a weekend again for next year. Frans and Lois are wonderful hosts! They give you lots of space and privacy and are equally eager to chat. They are very knowledgeable about what to do and where the best places are to eat in Niagara on the Lake! We love that this Bed and morning meal is just for 1 couple. There is a clean, roomy and lovely bedroom and bathroom and each morning Frans
👎 Loved everything about these amodations!
Everything was perfect. Wished we’d stayed longer.
It was all good
t a thing
The 2 bathrooms were not walker friendly and there were no grab bars for either room. Bath not accessible, but we knew this ahead of time.
Absolutely nothing that we didn t like.
Have noplaints it was perfect!
